White Eyeliner?

What to do with white eyeliner?

White eyeliner isn't the most usual of colors, and definatly not the first color you would think of. Despite that, white eyeliner is something I think every girl should have for summer. Used correctly it can brighten your face and make you look more awake and alert. If you put white eyeliner on your water line, it will accentuate the whites of your eyes and make them look larger and brighter. If you put it on your inner corner it will work as a highlight color and brighten your eyes and any makeup you're wearing. The main thing I would say to stay away from with white eyeliner is using it on your upper lash line. It can make your eyes look uneven and distorted. Cheers til next time.

Summer Fashion Trends

This summer, like all summers before, trends have changed. Colors, fabrics, styles, and patterns are very diverse and range from soft pastels to vivid neon, lace to sheer, and floral to tribal.

To start my little list off, is colors. This year you will find many different colors, some of the most popular are: Mint Green, Coral, Bright or Pastel Pink, Sky Blue, Neon Yellow, and other similar colors. Of course, black and white are foolproof once again. Nude colors are also being frequently paired with something a bit more colorful to provide a nice contrast.

More than colors, fabrics have come in blazing. Two in particular. One is lace. It's everywhere you look, and for good reason. Lace is beautiful and flattering and adds an interesting texture to a normally simple look. People have put lace on tank tops, skirts, cover-ups, and everything else imaginable. The second fabric is sheer. Most tank tops now are cotton with lace, or sheer high-low styled. Wearing sheer fabric is clever because not only is it pretty and slightly seductive, but it keeps you cool in the summer heat.

Finally, patterns have changed. One of the most popular summer patterns is floral. In almost any store you look at, you will find something floral. This pattern in particular is cute and girly and goes along very well with the rest of this summer's trends. The flowers add a little extra to any outfit. Another pattern that has taken over is tribal. Tribal patterns are found in every article of clothing ranging from shoes to jackets. They're typically very fun, bright, and happy; and contrast nicely to the calm, girly, florals. Tribal patterns are convenient because you can wear them with a solid piece of clothing or with another pattern without overdoing the look.

Well, that's all I have to say for now about summer 2012 fashion trends.

How To Get MINT GREEN Hair!!

First of all, there is no such thing as pastel hair dye. To get a mint color you need to dilute an already existing hair dye. Also, you will need to bleach your hair to a light blonde color. Now when I was looking for hair dye I was torn between Special Effects' Fishbowl and Sonic Green. In the end I decided on Sonic Green because mint is a more green color. I was right. This hair dye color was PERFECT! It got my hair to the color I was picturing in my mind without any trouble. After bleaching my hair I got a plastic bowl and a bottle of conditioner out and simply went for it.

I can't say if there is a specific conditioner to dye ratio because I was just eyeballing it. When I mixed the two together (a little dye and a lot of conditioner), it turned out blue. As time went on it never turned a green color. This is fine. You want the dye darker than you want it to turn out. I did a little strand test and the color was amazing. It wasn't too light and it wasn't too dark. I saturated all of my hair in the mixture, put a shower cap on, and waited half an hour.

After 30 minutes i washed out the color with cold water. It was amazing!! Although there were still a few blonde patches, the green was a pretty light minty color. I then simply reapplied the mixture to the blonde patches, waited another half hour, and rinsed again. I'm so happy with how the color came out and I still have over 3/4 of the dye left to touch up whenever it's needed. I won't fully wash my hair until 24 hours after i rinsed the second time to ensure that the color set.

The SFX color Sonic Green worked wonderfully. I'm afraid that Fishbowl will be too blue, as well as other turquoise colors. It's my belief that if you want mint green hair, you need to use a green hair dye, not a blue one. Good luck!! Hopefully I'll have an updated picture soon of how it turned out :)

How To Dye Your Hair A Bright Color!!

First of all, to successfully dye your hair a BRIGHT color, it needs to be bleached. There is no way around it. If you don't bleach the color will be muddied and won't be the bright color you're after (unless you're very light blonde). After bleaching your hair it's time to dye it. I recommend a strand test to insure that you like how the color looks.

DO NOT WASH YOUR HAIR WITH CONDITIONER BEFORE DYING. Using conditioner, including 2in1 shampoo, coats the hair and doesn't allow the dye to take hold. Also, have your hair completely dry, not damp or wet. Please wear gloves when dying your hair, not only can dye be a pain to get off bare skin, it can also do damage. Finally, put petroleum jelly over your ears and around your hairline to protect the skin.

If you're streaking your hair or dying it multiple colors you'll need to section the parts that you want died away from the others to dye them. If dying all of your hair, all you need to do is follow the instructions that comes with the dye and saturate all of your hair in it. Do not rub it into your scalp! For longer lasting and more vibrant hair, leave the color in for the longest recommended time, testing the your hair occasionally by removing dye from a small section and reapplying if you aren't content.

After your hair is dyed to your liking, rinse your hair with COLD water, DO NOT WASH. Wait about a day until washing your hair with shampoo and conditioner so the color can set fully. Every time you shower, you will see color coming off into the water. This does not mean that your dye will fade more quickly than it should. Even with dye coming off, the color should only fade small amounts. By the time your roots are showing it's probably time to re-dye.

I HIGHLY recommend that after bleaching, or dying, or both, to apply a deep/strong leave in conditioner or use a repair kit. If you take this step after bleaching, wait about 2-3 days to dye your hair so all of the product is out. If doing this after dying, wait about a day after the initial rinse out to insure that the dye is set fully. Taking this step will heal and repair your hair from the damage that dying and bleaching causes.

Thank you for reading and I hope this was helpful!!
